The voters have decided, and Joe Biden will be the next president of the United States. But who leads the Senate at the start of his administration is still up for grabs, with two runoff elections in Georgia set to determine if Mitch McConnell maintains his stranglehold in Congress or if Democrats can flip the Senate blue. Dear MoveOn member, The voters have decided, and Joe Biden will be the next president of the United States. But who leads the Senate at the start of his administration is still up for grabs, with two runoff elections in Georgia set to determine if Mitch McConnell maintains his stranglehold in Congress or if Democrats can flip the Senate blue. [Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff are fighting with grit and determination to get it done, but with all eyes on these races, they need our help now more than ever. Warnock is a Georgia native who knows firsthand the struggle so many Georgians and others across the country face to make ends meet. He and his 11 brothers and sisters grew up in public housing in Georgia, and when Rev. Warnock was accepted to Morehouse College, he didn't know how he would be able to afford tuition. Student loans and Pell grants helped him achieve his dreams of graduating college and later receiving his Ph.D., before being ordained into the ministry. For the past 15 years, Rev. Warnock has served as senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, the former pulpit of Martin Luther King Jr. Rev. Warnock is running to ensure that every person across the country has access to affordable health care, every worker is paid a living wage, and voting rights are protected. Jon Ossoff too is a native Georgian who in 2017 made history by mobilizing the largest Democratic voter turnout in a special election in over a decade, narrowly losing a House seat in a district that just weeks before had elected a Republican by a 24-point margin. Prior to his passing, Congressman John Lewis endorsed Ossoff, who is fighting against corruption in government, to defend Roe v. Wade, and to expand health care. [Georgia is proving the power of grassroots organizing by flipping blue in the presidential election. Now we need to make sure that Jon Ossoff and Reverend Warnock have the resources they need to keep that organizing going in the face of an onslaught of Republican dark-money attacks. {NAME}, will you chip in $3 now, split evenly between the Warnock and Ossoff campaigns?]( Our movement showed what real people power can do on November 3 by voting against authoritarianism and making Trump a one-term president.
