After the White House whistleblower's stunning revelations and continued bombshells from inside the White House—including chief of staff Mick Mulvaney's public admission of Trump's quid pro quo with Ukraine—public opinion has flipped. Dear MoveOn member, In August of 2018, only about 4 in 10 Americans supported impeaching Donald Trump.1 Even after special counsel Robert Mueller delivered his report to Congress, most Americans still didn't support impeachment. But now, finally, after the White House whistleblower's stunning revelations and continued bombshells from inside the White House—including chief of staff Mick Mulvaney's public admission of Trump's quid pro quo with Ukraine—public opinion has flipped.2 A majority of Americans now support impeachment AND Trump's removal, and that changes everything.3 So now MoveOn is announcing a big decision: We're deploying a team of paid, professional organizers in the states of key Republican senators to mobilize grassroots support for impeachment, conviction, and removal. That means not just hiring staff but also providing the tools, resources, signage, and more for the organizers to do their jobs, so that we can maximize the impact of MoveOn members and allies in those states. It means a full campaign infrastructure, and we're counting on your help to make it possible. Right now, we have the budget to hire organizers in only three states. That's not enough. We need to hire organizers in additional states, and keep them on the ground for the duration of this fight. Which is why we're asking: Can you chip in $5 a month to help us expand our budget, hire talented grassroots organizers in critical states, and keep this crucial program going for the duration of the impeachment inquiry? [Yes, I'll chip in monthly to support MoveOn's no-holds-barred ground game for Donald Trump's impeachment.]( [No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.]( With public opinion shifting, impeachment could really happen now. In fact, one Republican senator told a reporter that "if it was a secret vote, 30 Republican senators would vote to impeach Trump."4 And as soon as one Republican senator makes a public announcement that they will vote to convict him, the dam will break open. And that will be only a matter of time, since prominent Republicans are starting to speak out, including former presidential candidate John Kasich, who just told CNN that Trump's "across the Rubicon" and should be impeached.5 We're going big with an in-depth organizing campaign—and we've got a proven model that we know works. In 2017 and 2018, we went big to train MoveOn members to become community organizers and volunteer leaders, empowering them to host events, knock on doors, and talk to their communities. And it paid off—big time. At the same time, MoveOn launched the Nobody is Above the Law network with our partners in order to mobilize hundreds of thousands of people within hours of important news breaking during the Mueller investigation. The strategy worked, with MoveOn members and our allies showing up in huge numbers at key moments. That laid the groundwork for the critical work we are now doing to impeach Trump and remove him from office once and for all. We've identified the handful of Republican senators who we might be able to pressure to break from Trump. The organizers we hire in these states will work with local groups to plan events in front of Senate district offices, follow senators when they are in town to put them on the spot, generate local media coverage (the kind that senators pay close attention to), and make sure these senators know that no matter what the Trump echo chamber says, their constituents want them to vote to remove him from office. We're on the verge of ending this disaster of a presidency. And now, we need your help in order to green-light this budget, start hiring, and ensure we can keep these organizers on our payroll for as long as it takes to win. Will you chip in $5 a month and help us finish the job? [Yes, I'll chip in monthly to support MoveOn's no-holds-barred ground game for Donald Trump's impeachment.]( [No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.]( Thanks for all you do. –Vicki, Justin, Kelly, Seth, and the rest of the team P.S. Even as the Republican dam is starting to break on impeachment, Trump continues to violate the Constitution on a daily basis. Most recently, he tried to host the G-7 summit (a meeting of the seven biggest economies in the world) at his Doral, Florida resort, which would have benefitted him financially—but was forced to reverse course after bipartisan criticism.6 If we do not impeach Trump, all future presidents would presume that they are above the law and that the Constitution doesn't apply to them. Republicans are starting to realize this terrifying fact, and now's the time for us to go all-in to end Trump's lawless presidency. Can you chip in $5 a month to help us expand our budget, hire talented grassroots organizers in critical states, and keep this crucial program going for the duration of the impeachment inquiry?
