Will you do me a favor? Take a moment to imagine the America we could have. Dear MoveOn member, Will

Will you do me a favor? Take a moment to imagine the America we could have. Dear MoveOn member, Will you do me a favor? Take a moment to imagine the America we could have. An America with leaders in Congress who are dedicated to representing all of us—not the corporate lobbyists and billionaires who want to rig the rules in their favor. An America that's safe for our children in our classrooms and on our streets, with universal background checks and a ban on assault weapons, where minimum wage is actually a living wage, and where Medicare for All—health care for every woman, man, and child—is a basic human right. This November, we have a chance to decide who we are as a people—and what kind of a country we're going to build for our children and grandchildren. But we get that chance only if we end Republican control of the House of Representatives, make gains in the Senate, and give ourselves the momentum to win the White House in 2020. I'm thrilled that this week MoveOn announced the next big step in its elections program: its first wave of 2018 endorsements for the House of Representatives. Thirteen candidates who are the start of MoveOn's larger commitment to endorse and help elect 100 progressive House candidates this November and end Republican control of Congress. MoveOn's plan to win back control of the House is massive, smart, and achievable—but MoveOn needs the resources to make it happen. That's why I'm asking you, {NAME}: Can you get in this fight and chip in $3 now to help power MoveOn's innovative, nimble, and inspiring 2018 midterm elections campaign? [Yes, I'll chip in.]( All of the candidates that MoveOn just endorsed are first-timers for Congress—just like I was six years ago when I ran for the Massachusetts Senate seat. They are a diverse group of new leaders from all walks of life, stepping up to do something extraordinary: taking on powerful interests, fighting to end Republican control of Washington, providing a check against the Trump agenda, and pushing for a progressive agenda that works for all of us. And many of these candidates are running in the most competitive districts in America—the areas where Hillary Clinton beat Donald Trump, and where a strong candidate with grit, passion, and resources can win a seat and help end Republican control of the House. I am glad to work with MoveOn today and happy to see all that MoveOn and you, its members around the country, will accomplish between now and November. I believe in the power of the Resistance—the power not just to resist, but to persist. To give our children and grandchildren a fighting chance to succeed, and to build a future we haven't even dreamed of yet. If we work toward this future together, I know we will achieve it. But it starts with winning back control of Congress this November. Will you chip in and help MoveOn implement its smart and powerfully important elections program, including its work to endorse and support 100 progressive House candidates? [Click here to chip in $3 to help the push toward victory in November.]( I know that MoveOn's plans, combined with the grassroots power of millions of MoveOn members like you, {NAME}, could make the difference this fall. Because MoveOn is not only endorsing 100 candidates in House races (and also 100 candidates in crucial state and local elections), but the MoveOn team is working around the clock already to use cutting-edge technology to engage, persuade, and ultimately turn out people to vote. MoveOn's new video persuasion project has already made a difference in recent elections in Virginia and Alabama. They're running a huge and sophisticated peer-to-peer texting program. And they're partnering with Mobilize America to connect MoveOn members directly with thousands of volunteer opportunities on hundreds of congressional campaigns nearest them across the country. You've probably read the same headlines that I have—that Democrats' lead in polls has dwindled and control of the House now looks like more of a toss-up. But that's not the whole story. If we endorse terrific candidates like this group that MoveOn is endorsing, and give organizations like MoveOn the resources to run a bold campaign, we can beat the odds by a wide margin this November. [Can you join our fight and chip in $3 right now to help make MoveOn's elections program a success?]( Back in January 2017, I attended Donald Trump's inauguration. I wanted it burned into my eyeballs—so every time I think I'm too tired to keep going, I just have to close my eyes and see that day, and I'm back in the fight. As I sat and listened to him give one of the darkest speeches I'd ever heard, I thought: This is it. The Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. They have the votes to do whatever they want, and we can't stop them. In that moment, things felt hopeless. But the next day, I was at the Women's March in Boston. Those marches across the country and around the world became the biggest protest in the history of the world. That's when I knew that all wasn't lost. That we had a fighting chance. Trump and his cronies may have money and power – but there are a lot more of us than there are of them. With a people-powered army, we can level the playing field, turn the tables, and win. In the months since, we have resisted—and persisted—and even won some victories, like saving Obamacare for millions of Americans. We've fought back against what seemed like insurmountable odds back on January 20, 2017. It's time to turn that grassroots energy toward winning elections. Are you in? [Yes, Elizabeth! I'll chip in $3 and join the fight!]( It's amazing to see many of the people we saw back at the Women's March, and the March for Science, and the March for Our Lives, and at the protests to stop the Muslim Ban, save health care, and pass DACA now running for office—but this just isn't about them. It's about all of us, and what we do together this year. Now, more than ever, all of us need get in this fight. Volunteering, organizing, donating, and marching to the polls—just as we marched in the streets. I want you to imagine one more thing: Imagine what we could do together if progressives held power in Washington. I want to make that a reality, and so does MoveOn—and MoveOn has a rock-solid plan to make it a reality. Let's make it happen. [Will you stand with MoveOn and chip in $3 now?]( Thanks for all you do. –Elizabeth Warren P.S. Here's a little bit about a few of the candidates who MoveOn endorsed this week. Some of them are running in the most competitive districts in the country. And every one of these candidates has a chance to be part of a wave that will knock Republicans out of the House of Representatives. Colin Allred in TX-32 is a civil rights attorney and Dallas native who is running to fight for working families, not the special interests who have rigged the system. He's up against Representative Pete Sessions, one of the most conservative members of the U.S. House, and who has voted 100% of the time with Trump. Kara Eastman running in NE-02 is a trained social worker, runs a nonprofit organization for green and safe housing policies, and serves on the board of her local community college. She supports Medicare for All—while her opponent, Representative Don Bacon, voted to take health care away from millions. Andy Kim running in NJ-03 is a South Jersey native, Rhodes scholar, and national security expert. He's ready to serve the people, not giant corporations. His GOP opponent, Representative Tom MacArthur, voted to give massive tax cuts to corporations and was the author of a bill that would allow health insurance companies to deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. [Click here to chip in and help send the GOP packing this fall.]( Want to support MoveOn's work? The MoveOn community will work every moment, day by day and year by year, to resist Trump's agenda, contain the damage, defeat hate with love, and begin the process of swinging the nation's pendulum back toward sanity, decency, and the kind of future that we must never give up on. And to do it MoveOn needs your support, now more than ever. Will you stand with MoveOn? [Click here to chip in $3, or whatever you can afford.]( Federal candidates or officeholders mentioned above are not asking for more than $5,000 per calendar year from individuals or other federally permissible sources, nor are they asking for any funds from corporations, labor unions, or any other federally prohibited sources. --------------------------------------------------------------- PAID FOR BY MOVEON.ORG POLITICAL ACTION, .
