[View in browser]( [motorsport.com]( Dear Reader, Happy New Year! The reset of this period – and the usually chilly weather that goes with it! – often makes one think about new adventures ahead. So why not seek out some classic motorsport events to see in the flesh this year? I’m often asked which events are on my bucketlist and I’m fortunate enough to have ticked off a lot: The ‘Triple Crown’ events of the Monaco Grand Prix, Le Mans 24 Hours and Indianapolis 500 are as wonderful to attend as their reputations suggest, and all so very different to experience. In fact, I’d recommend any Formula 1 race that starts with an ‘M’ – so along with Monaco, that’s Melbourne, Monza, Montreal, Mexico City or Miami! I’ll be starting my 2024 with the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona later this month, before the 500 in February, and then moving across Florida to watch the St Petersburg IndyCar Series opener in March. Whether it’s open-wheel, sportscars or NASCAR racing that floats your boat, you should take advantage of so many great racetracks across the world – why not book a vacation around an event, to enjoy the local area too? Laguna Seca is another favourite of mine, and the coastline around there is simply stunning to visit. The season starts this weekend with the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia. And while that’s a little far-flung to witness in person, you can follow all the action right here with Motorsport.com.
