Follow Us:   The Australian Grand Prix has become the iconic Formula 1 World Championship opener of recent times, and although Melbourne has done a superb job in keeping COVID-19 cases down in the city, you can see why it wouldn’t want to take a risk so soon in 2021. The local government actually managed to eradicate the virus from its population in November, thanks to a stringent ‘go for zero’ approach. The variant COVID strains that have emerged recently provide good reason for concern and caution, and the Australian Open tennis championships – set to take place next month – have already caused some player quarantining fears among hotel owners there. With new cases still in single figures locally right now, the prospect of a thousand staff flying into Melbourne from Europe sadly looks likely to be one step too far.     Charles Bradley, Global Editor in Chief   Motorsport.com E D I T O R ' S C H O I C E [F1 season-opening Australian GP set for postponement](  The opening round of the 2021 Formula 1 season in Australia is set to be postponed, Motorsport.com has learned.  [Todt not expecting "a normal F1 season" in 2021](  [Read More]( [F1 exile Albon to compete in DTM with Red Bull backing](  [Read More]( [Aston Martin set for February F1 livery and car launch](  [Read More]( [Marko: "Insecurity" from Hockenheim crash led to Vettel downfall](  [Read More](   Follow Us:    Received this email from a friend? The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
