Follow Us:    When he was racing in the DTM, Mika Hakkinen was often asked how a Formula 1 compared and he would answer it thus: “An F1 car is like a wild animal – it’s always trying to bite you!” Next season, another two-time F1 champion – Fernando Alonso – returns with Alpine, the rebranded Renault team. And to ease his re-acclimatization, Renault has run him in a modified 2018 car. Remember, pre-season testing is limited to three days in 2021, so Alonso needs all the help he can get after his years away in Toyota WEC, Indy 500 bids and Dakar Rally adventure. Alonso has also driven the 2020 car on a filming day, so expect him to hit the ground running as hard as he can when he re-enters the F1 fray.     Charles Bradley, Global Editor in Chief   Motorsport.com E D I T O R ' S C H O I C E [Is Alonso wasting his time testing a 2018 Formula 1 car?](  Fernando Alonso may have quit Formula 1 at the end of 2018 in order to pursue outside interests, but he has rarely been far away from the series’ orbit.  [Ferrari now in favour of F1 engine freeze from 2022](  [Read More]( [Bahrain GP: Latest F1 technical developments](  [Read More]( [Why Ricciardo can take McLaren to the next level](  [Read More]( [Bahrain F2: Ilott takes dominant pole, Schumacher only 10th](  [Read More](     [Formula 1 Ethiad Airways Abu Dhabi Gran Prix 2020](  [Learn More]( [An exciting, historically accurate motor racing and wartime thriller](  [Buy Now](      Follow Us:    Received this email from a friend? Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
