I know many of you will take issue with your sport being mixed with ‘politics’ but this is bold statement from F1’s leading team – whose star driver Lewis Hamilton is vehement on the subject of racism and racial injustice. As Lewis himself says, this is all about appealing for change. And Mercedes has answered this call by making its own pledge to encourage diversity within its ranks. What happens on the track this weekend will be of the utmost importance to us all, but anything that can also encourage the debate towards a better world should be welcomed.
