The MoJo Daily newsletter, Monday through Friday. [View in browser]( [Mother Jones Daily Newsletter](     February 8, 2024 After Nikki Haley lost to "none of these candidates" in Nevada's state-run primary on Tuesday, tonight Donald Trump is set to sweep the state's GOP caucuses. Now, at first blush, this might seem like just another ticked box for Trump as he steps closer to clinching the presidential nomination. But look closer at Nevada's caucuses and they quickly read like a fantasy election for Republicans. As my colleague Stephanie Mencimer wrote, they seem to feature nearly [every measure to suppress the vote that the GOP has pined after]( for the past 20 years. Blatant restrictions to the ballot? Check. Official ID requirements? Check. Onerous rules for ADA accommodations? Check. This, of course, is far from accidental; caucus organizers are the same people who have promoted Trump's lies that the 2020 election was stolen. But Nevada offers another chilling reminder of what's at stake if Trump returns to the White House, where election lies and efforts to restrict the ballot will certainly flow like never before. —Inae Oh Advertisement [House Subscriptions Ad]( [Top Story] [Top Story]( [Tonight, Republicans Will Conduct Their Dream Election: One Where Hardly Anyone Can Vote]( The Nevada GOP designed its caucus to fend off imaginary fraud—and real voters.
