The MoJo Daily newsletter, Monday through Friday. [View in browser]( [Mother Jones Daily Newsletter](     August 15, 2023 I have to admit that I'm suffering from a bit of Trump Indictment Fatigue. (There are four! That's a lot of legal stuff to read!) But even I was genuinely taken aback by this detail in [Donald Trump's latest charges](: The indictment includes alleged violations of Georgia’s powerful RICO law, typically used to prosecute gangs or other criminal organizations. Prosecutors can seek 20-year prison sentences under that anti-racketeering statute. As a non-expert in criminal activity, I normally attribute something like violating RICO laws to characters played by Joe Pesci. That a former president and current GOP frontrunner for the presidential nomination was just indicted on such a charge is truly astounding. But orchestrating a "criminal enterprise" is exactly what Fulton County DA Fani Willis believes Trump and 18 of his allies are guilty of when they attempted to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia. I vacillate between finding all of this demoralizing and tiring, excruciatingly so. Still, it's critical to keep track of all the awfulness, especially in the lead-up to the next election.
