The MoJo Daily newsletter, Monday through Friday. [View in browser]( [Mother Jones Daily Newsletter](     December 14, 2022 Hi! Clara Jeffery and David Corn here, and you know there’s something big to share if the editor-in-chief and DC bureau chief are co-writing today’s newsletter intro note. There is, and it actually has to do with [Cabbage]( and [Moxie](, our dogs. Let us explain: Late on Monday, our team sent out a fundraising email about our incredibly important [year-end push for donations](. They shared why [this year is make-or-break]( and how it’s so nerve-wracking, because December usually sees a flood of donations come in during the final week, and day, of the year—so it’s hard to know your fate until it’s too late to do anything about it. It was a very brass-tacks email, and they thought including a cute kitten picture would be a good way to lighten the mood—and it all snowballed from there, ultimately including Cabbage, Moxie, and nine other staff pets. It was [quite adorable](, and it was also the most effective fundraising email we’ve sent this month, which we very much need. With everything as serious and urgent as it is, we can also use as many pick-me-ups as we can get, so we wanted to share the adorable pets of MoJo with you in [this cuteness overload Twitter thread and also ask you to share YOURS](. And those donations? If you can [support Mother Jones with a year-end gift right now](, all online contributions will be doubled until we hit our $350,000 goal, and we’d be grateful. But you can also help by spreading the joy—and our donation link—around if you’d like to [get in on the fun]( over on Twitter. —Clara Jeffery and David Corn Advertisement [House Subscriptions Ad]( [Top Story] [Top Story]( [Before Roe, a Baptist Preacher Performed Abortions in Secret. We have an ambitious $350,000 goal and all online gifts will be matched and go twice as far until we get there. We can’t afford to come up short: Donations big and small make up 74 percent of our budget. If you can right now, this is an important time to support Mother Jones with a year-end gift—it will be doubled thanks to an incredibly generous donor. [Donate]( Did you enjoy this newsletter?
