The MoJo Daily newsletter, Monday through Friday. [View in browser]( [Mother Jones Daily Newsletter](     October 10, 2022 It's been a dizzying Monday catching up on Republicans saying awful things. But thanks to our mighty weekend news crew, I got the lowdown pretty quickly—and reader, it's ugly. Referring to Black people as "the people who do the crime." Yep, [that's straight from a sitting senator's mouth](. Vowing to put Donald Trump in the White House if he wins Nevada's secretary of state race next month. Cool, Republican nominee Jim Marchant [promised to do exactly that](. Asserting that abortion decisions belong to "gentlemen" state lawmakers. Step right up, it's New Hampshire's Republican candidate for Senate, [Don Bolduc](. Trust me, I know. It can be a slog reading such nasty remarks, particularly after a lovely fall weekend! But it's critical to remain vigilant and understand the toxicity that continues to animate so much of politics these days. As for the key takeaway from these three separate news cycles, well, they do a pretty good job of succinctly capturing the priorities of the current GOP: racist, election-denying, and anti-choice. What a nice-looking bunch of men, right? —Inae Oh P.S. My colleagues on the business side of Mother Jones kicked off our fall fundraising drive last week.
