[View in browser]( [Mother Jones Daily Newsletter](     April 22, 2022 It's a big day for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who is [testifying]( at an administrative hearing in Atlanta about her alleged involvement in the Capitol riot. It's also a big day for Mother Jones, since one of our [very own videos]( of MTG was played during the hearing as evidence. "Mother Jones?" Greene's lawyer said incredulously after the video was shown. "I’m sorry, I’m not going to rely upon them to give an accurate depiction." (That lawyer, by the way, is [the guy responsible for Citizens United](.) Some backstory on the hearing: A small group of voters in Greene's district has argued that the representative should be ineligible for reelection because of a section of the 14th Amendment that forbids members of Congress who have taken part in an insurrection to run for office. To be clear, this is legal long shot. But the hearing makes Greene the first Republican member of Congress to testify under oath about January 6. Greene asserted, "My words never ever mean anything for violence." Still, one illustrative moment came when Greene was asked, "Did you advocate to President Trump to impose martial law as a way to remain in power?" She responded, "I don't recall." As an aside, the judge also happens to be a [choral music composer]( and an [avid collector of Japanese cloisonné](.
