The MoJo Daily newsletter, Monday through Friday. [View in browser]( [Support our nonprofit journalism]( [Mother Jones Daily Newsletter](     July 23, 2024 After weeks of watching a campaign on life support, the jolt within the Democratic Party after President Biden announced that he was dropping out has been something to behold. All that [campaign cash](. Excitement bordering on the [unhinged](. Personally, I welcome the injection of hope! Maybe [democracy is still a thing]( in this corner of the world! So let's take a moment to check on the right. How are Donald Trump supporters responding? [Just as awfully as you'd think,]( as my colleague Kiera reports, with racism, vitriol, and strange biblical comparisons. Depressing yet wholly expected from this crowd. But reader, let me tell you, I cackled at their reactions to this [genuinely cute moment when Biden called]( into a Kamala Harris campaign event on Monday and said, "I'm watching you, kid. I love you." The responses? "That was a recording." "That was AI Joe on a recording." "Is he actually alive?" These come against the larger [backdrop of conspiracy theories]( over Biden's whereabouts since his announcement on Sunday. Will they be satisfied by Biden's address to the nation tomorrow night? Probably not. But after a summer of great momentum for Trump, this news cycle, the aforementioned injection of hope, and the apparent meltdown on the right, maybe it's time to relish the current moment—even if it may not last. —Inae Oh Advertisement [Reimagining the Revolution]( [Top Story] [Top Story]( [For Kamala Harris, Black Women Are Already a Crucial Fundraising Force]( More than 40,000 Black women reportedly raised $1.5 million for Harris on a Sunday night Zoom call.
