The MoJo Daily newsletter, Monday through Friday. [View in browser]( [Support our nonprofit journalism]( [Mother Jones Daily Newsletter](     June 5, 2024 "I’m surprised they haven’t killed me." That's the key theme in [Michael Flynn's new movie about Michael Flynn,]( a two-hour effort dedicated to characterizing its creator as a political martyr worthy of comparisons to Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy. My colleague Stephanie Mencimer was brave enough to attend a recent screening, where she successfully ducked into the theater just as someone from Flynn's staff started to kick out members of the press. There, she endured Flynn's repeated narrative that he is a victim of political persecution and "copious" footage of Flynn shirtless and surfing. But it wasn't all torture. Mencimer reports that several moments throughout the film appeared to offer genuine insight into Flynn's psyche. So much so, that she returned home wondering whether Flynn had indeed been unfairly maligned at times. Ultimately though, the film proved to be filled with grievances, MAGA conspiracy theories, and propaganda—as well as what Stephanie calls a ["painful reminder" of the chaotic awfulness]( that we could be subjected to again if Donald Trump returns to the White House. —Inae Oh Advertisement [Perfect your Inner Game, read ''Living a Conscious Life'' on sale now]( [Top Story] [Top Story]( [Disgraced General Michael Flynn Has Made a New Movie—About Himself]( Trump's former national security adviser is surprised the government hasn't killed him.
