The MoJo Daily newsletter, Monday through Friday. [View in browser]( [Support our nonprofit journalism]( [Mother Jones Daily Newsletter](     May 3, 2024 It's been a heavy two weeks. Why not light our brains on fire with [Elon Musk's media diet](? Not up for that? Well, my brave colleague Tim Murphy took it upon himself to study the billionaire's behavior, reading [everything Musk had to say on X]( for an entire week—and he survived to tell us about it. [As you can see here](, this endeavor is not for the fainthearted. It meant weathering through right-wing emoji storms, dozens of attacks against the CEO of NPR, self-delusions of fighting a civilizational war, math jokes, and so much more. It's a journey that makes for a deeply amusing read—the line about Howard Hughes cracked me up—but it also revealed some surprising elements. In fact, Tim's analysis stirred a small level of sympathy in me. As Tim put it, "If your media diet looked like this, you'd be red-pilled too." So, heading into the weekend, let this be the permission you need to ditch the phone—and go touch some grass. —Inae Oh Advertisement [Bookshop.org]( [Top Story] [Top Story]( [I Read Everything Elon Musk Posted for a Week.
