[Support our nonprofit journalism]( [Mother Jones Daily Newsletter]( April 16, 2024 Jury selection for Donald Trump's criminal trial continues in New York today, where the search for potential jurors who can be impartial about "[Individual-1](" is not going well. As of this writing, not a single person has been chosen to sit on the panel of [12 jurors and six alternatives](. If that sounds like a painful process, I think the former president would agree: On the second day of his historic trial, Trump appeared to fall asleepâagain. [Check out this description]( via Law360 reporter Frank Runyeon: Trump's head slowly dropped, his eyes closed. It jerked back upward. He adjusts himself. Then, his head droops again. He straightens up, leaning back. His head doops for a third time, he shakes his shoulders. Eyes closed still. His head drops. Finally, he pops his eyes open. Just an incredible scene. Cinematic even. But don't let Trump's snoozefest distract you from the hard facts of this case either. For that, I urge you to read [David Corn's critical reminder here](. âInae Oh Advertisement [May Contain Lies]( [Top Story] [Top Story]( [Trump’s Trial Marks the Return of “Individual-1”]( The former co-conspirator who escaped accountability is now in the dock.
