One of my favorite phrases was "dead-cat bounce." Before I start getting hate mail, know that I love cats. [It's just an expression](. What I'm referencing is the mega-cap stocks that powered higher through the end of the first quarter. These are many of the same stocks that crushed portfolios in 2022. The question now is whether the rally can be sustained, or if it was a proverbial dead-cat bounce. Lauren Solberg [takes a look under the hood](. The reality is that beyond the big gains on stocks like Meta and Nvidia, the overall stock market has been going nowhere fast since November.
