Seriously, though - is now the right time for this kind of "social experiment?" Facebook is working with outside researchers to study how its apps influence "key political attitudes and behaviors during the US 2020 elections," the company announced Monday. As part of the study, it will pay Facebook and Instagram users — possibly between $10 and $20 per week — to stop using the app, The Washington Post's Elizabeth Dwoskin reported Thursday. The company expects between 200,000 and 400,000 users to participate in the study, which will run through December but likely won't produce results until mid-2021. Do you think it's fair for Facebook to use their massive cash stash to silence citizens ahead of the Election? Now that the US Senate and House of Representatives are done with recess and heading back into session, we're getting increasingly impatient. The Senate heads back to DC on the 8th, and the House returns on the 14th. Things are still stuck in a stalemate since no one seems able to agree on anything anymore.
