Crime & Punishment A former senior advisor to the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network pled guilty to charges that she leaked confidential information to a BuzzFeed reporter. Natalie Edwards, 41, carried a USB flash drive filled with what reports said were Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). Those reports are filed by the Treasury Department officials when they spot transactions that could indicate money laundering and other financial crimes. The SARs involved Paul Manafort and others involved in Robert Mueller’s investigation, reported Fox News. The charges carry up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Fox News reported Edwards reached a plea deal with prosecutors that calls for only zero to six months prison time.
