My latest bill giving full subpoena powers to Louisville’s Civilian Review Board for LMPD passed overwhelmingly out of committee. But I need your help to get this passed through the full Senate. Last week, the Senate passed a bill effectively banning no-knock warrants, like the warrant that led to Breonna Taylor’s tragic death. I’ve also worked with my colleagues to create the West End Opportunity Partnership, which brings investment and economic solutions to Louisville’s West End neighborhoods. It’s not just a talking point, either. We’ve let community leaders guide us in planning what could become a billion dollars in investment. In short, tax revenue from the West End will be put back into the hands of West End leaders -- self-sustaining healthy reinvestment for decades to come. But we’re not across the finish line yet. We’ve had months of pleas for justice, but these last couple weeks of the General Assembly are our last chance to get reforms like these enacted.
