Tip of the Week

[Stitching Together](
Where do the stitches go?
â wait, have I even made a stitch?
â how am I supposed to use this??
Most of us have been there right? That yarn looked just delightful, squishy and fun at the store, but when you got it home, you couldnât, for the life of you, figure out how to work with it.
Iâve found that starting with a small pattern, especially one that you have practiced in familiar yarn, is a great way to learn how to work with complex yarn.
This simple [crochet flower square]( is a great one to use for practice. You can first work the square and flower in your favorite yarn. Once you know the pattern well, try adding a flower in the more difficult yarn.
Since the flower is worked in a single round, youâll get the feel for forming stitches with the yarn before tackling a pattern that involves more rows or rounds. Itâs a great place to start!

Renee Melton made the [Citrus Twist Tote]( She says: "I made your Citrus Twist Tote with leftover cotton yarn I had laying around. It was very fun to make and I love how it turned out. It's the perfect size for a market bag. Thanks for the free pattern!"
