What I'm reading and a podcast episode you should listen to! Hi, Friend! Jesse bought me these tulip

What I'm reading and a podcast episode you should listen to! Hi, Friend! Jesse bought me these tulips for Valentine's Day. It was my first time to force bulbs inside and they have been SO beautiful! It's been a touch of Spring in the midst of (mostly) a cold and rainy few weeks! I'm hoping to plant them this fall as I've heard that they will (hopefully) come up every year again! Kierstyn had Spirit Week at preschool this week and I realized that this was the first time I've ever been "in charge" of Spirit Week. As in, our older three have figured out and executed their ideas for Spirit Week. But Kierstyn is still too little to make it happen herself (though she helped me come up with ideas!) She really wanted to wear her Elsa costume (her very favorite thing to wear!) so I got creative and incorporated it into Polka Dot Day! Jesse and I cut out and taped on white dots (see them faintly in the pic?) so that it totally counted. And she was the happiest girl to get to wear her costume instead of her uniform! We ended up taping a rocket ship to another Elsa dress for Out of This World Day and then taping a Beach Ball to the same dress for Beach Day. Hey, I might not win any awards for most creative costumes, but Kierstyn was SO happy she got to wear an Elsa dress to school three days in a week! I mentioned last week that Jesse and I were going to watch this 4-part mini-series, [All The Light We Cannot See](). Kathrynne had watched it and loved it and recommended it. Well, we ended up loving it! It has some language in it, but it was overall very clean and a beautiful story and so well done. I've read the book, but I honestly think I might like the movie better than the book! It's very different from the book, but so good. I would highly recommend it! This week, I get to share [a conversation I had recently with Sara Hagerty](=) — and it’s one I think you’ll love and be deeply inspired by! I know I was! Sara is the author of [The Gift of Limitations: Finding Beauty in Your Boundaries]( and I resonated so deeply with her story and this book. In fact, it is my first 5-star read of 2024! [In this episode](=), Sara and I take a dive into her inspiring journey of facing limitations, from a challenging road to motherhood, 13 years of infertility, adopting four children, birthing 3 unexpected biological children, navigating a wide age range and seven kids, and dealing with chronic illness. Sara shares her wonderful wisdom on how to embrace and find beauty in the roadblocks, unexpected, and limitations of life. We tackle tough questions and discuss the incredibly transformative power of acknowledging and grieving our limitations. Sara’s insights into incorporating pauses into our daily lives and allowing God to work through our limitations rather than against them spoke deeply to my soul and it’s something I’ve thought of multiple times since this interview. We also chat about the practical steps you can take to navigate the tension of feeling like there’s not enough of you to go around and the importance of trusting God in those moments. I hope this conversation helps to shift your perspective on limitations and reveal the unexpected gifts that they can bring. There can actually be blessing in boundaries! Kaitlynn left for an 11-day trip to Southeast Asia this week. She's going with a group of seniors from school and it so excited about it... well, other than the 5-hour and 18-hour flights!! I can't wait to share more about it once she gets back! You've been LOVING the clothing deals I've been working on getting for you all with clothes that I personally love and wear. Some of you wanted a shorter and lighter dress than the one I had a deal for recently, so here you go! Amazon has this [Women’s Casual Summer Dress on sale 45% off](right now when you use the promo code 45Y9MJGF at checkout! That makes the dresses as low as $25.29 after code! This dress is lightweight and looks so cute! Plus, it comes in a bunch of colors and patterns and is sizes S-XXL. Pair it with a jean jacket or sweater on cooler days! I thought it was a little on the small size so if you are in between sizes, I’d recommend sizing up. [See more pictures of the dress here.](=) = Amazon has these [Women’s Ruffle Short Sleeve Tops for just $18.84]() when you clip the 5% off e-coupon and save an extra 30% off at checkout! (Please note that if the 30% doesn’t come off automatically, you can use the promo code 30PBM2JJ at checkout.) There are so many different colors and patterns available and it's in sizes small to XXL. I'm wearing a small here and it fits so well! [Go here to see more pictures of the top!](=) I have [worn this top](=) on repeat since I got it and love it so much! It comes in a variety of colors and patterns and two different styles. I’ve machine washed it and it came out well! What I'm Currently Reading: [Becoming Elisabeth Elliot](=) -- I've read a few chapters of this book so far and am not sure what I think yet! [Only the Beautiful](=)-- My sister said I must read this book! And she knows me well, so if she says that, then I do what she says! I'm over halfway through and it's really good. I will say that this is a rape scene that goes into a bit more detail that I prefer and could be triggering to some, but otherwise, I'm really enjoying it. [Really Very Crunchy]( -- I got to interview Emily this past week for an upcoming podcast, so I'm loving getting to read her book before it is published. While some people might feel like some of her crunchy conclusions are a little on the extreme side, I appreciate her non-judgmental, baby step approach that factors in families who are on really tight budgets. And the podcast episode was amazing; I can't wait for you to hear it! _______________ We're headed to bed early tonight since I'm taking Silas and Jesse to the airport really early tomorrow morning (before 4 a.m.!) for them to catch their flight to DC! I'm hoping to interview them -- and Kaitlynn! -- on an upcoming podcast episode all about their trips! So stay tuned for that! Have a wonderful Saturday evening! -Crystal P.S.
