Why I'm saying no and this week's top 5 deals Hi, Friends! Micah, Kaitlynn, and I flew to Myrtle Bea

Why I'm saying no and this week's top 5 deals Hi, Friends! Micah, Kaitlynn, and I flew to Myrtle Beach on Monday for me to attend and speak at the Communicator's Collective. While we had quite the wild time getting there! If you [follow along on Instagram](, you know I got stuck back with Micah in TN because they didn't have me as traveling with an infant and there were a whole bunch of issues with their computer and it took an hour to get it all sorted out! Kaitlynn went on ahead and flew the two legs on her own and then the conference coordinators picked her up and she got to hang out at the hotel for half a day without me. She said it was so relaxing and fun! After almost getting on a standby flight and not getting on another standby flight, Micah and I finally made it -- just five hours later than expected and right in time for the even to start!) I made the decision when the flight issues started coming up, that I would just see this as an opportunity to get to bless people I wouldn't have gotten to otherwise. I ended up having so many conversations with people throughout the day and got to spread encouragement and kindness to a bunch of airline workers who were overloaded and dealing with lots of frustrated people. Our Homeschool Curriculum One of the most-asked questions after I sent out last week's personal email newsletter was, "What preschool book is that that you showed in the picture with Kierstyn?" We are using Memoria Press this year. We've done My Father's World preschool and PreK with Kierstyn and I wanted to find something that was a bit more challenging than those but wasn't Kindergarten curriculum. I discovered Memoria Press and their [Junior Kindergarten program]( and realized it was just what I was looking for. It's a little workbook heavy so if you have a child who doesn't like to write/color/fill in workbooks, it might not be a good fit, but Kierstyn is loving it and has been begging to go on and do extra pages in her workbooks! Micah's First Visit to the Ocean! While we were in Myrtle Beach, Kaitlynn and Micah and I got to visit the ocean -- which was just a few blocks from our hotel! It was Micah's first visit to the ocean. He was not a fan of the water at all (as you can tell by his reluctant body language above!) but he LOVED the sand and would have spent hours walking and playing in it had we had more time there! Why I'm Saying No “Pretend you’re standing on the edge of a huge cliff and someone is going to push you off if you don’t let go of 2-3 things you’re carrying. What are you going to let go of?” I was at the end of my first coaching session with Alli Worthington a few months ago and she’d ask me to describe my life and responsibilities. She told me I needed to find some things to let go, scale back on, get help with, or delegate. I pretty quickly said, “I don’t know that I really can.” And I was prepared to back up my answer with lots of solid reasons why I needed to be carrying everything I was carrying. Instead of me having an opportunity to do just that, she gave me the cliff analogy above and told me I had two weeks to ponder the question and come back to her with some ideas of what I was going to let go of. I love that she did this because it was exactly what my stubborn, do-it-myself, don’t-ask-for-help personality needed to be challenged with. And — to my great surprise! — in the next few weeks, I found three big ongoing responsibilities that I could let go of — and I did!! In [this week’s episode of the podcast,]( I share what those three responsibilities were and how it looked and felt to hand them off and what I’m learning from this. If you’d like to listen to the episode, just search for The Crystal Paine Show wherever you listen to podcasts or[go here to listen.]( I hope my journey and story really encourages those of you who might need the gentle nudge — or a strong kick in the backside — to release some of what you’re clinging onto thinking you’re the only one who can do it, the only one who is willing/stepping up to say yes, or the only one who can do it as well as you can. This journey of letting go, praying for God to bring help, receiving the offers of help, and letting others help has been SO hard and humbling and so, so good for my soul. Plus, I’m starting to feel a lot more breathing room in my life again — which has been a huge gift! What 2-3 things could you/should you/would you let go of and/or delegate? Hit reply and let me know! [Listen to the podcast episode here.]() A HUGE List of Interviews!
