Plus, a real-life video clip [image]( Hi, Friends! On Sunday afternoon two weeks ago, we had close to 30 people coming over in 2 hours, our house was messy, there was a lot I wanted to prep, and I was trying to clean up but David just wanted to be held. Instead of feeling stressed and frustrated like I would have five years ago because, hello, company is coming and I’m far from ready! I stopped and held my boy, we listened to worship music, and I stood there in my messy kitchen thinking how grateful I am for the gift of his life. I had a tripod close by so I stuck my camera in it and recorded this to remember this moment and the goodness of God in the midst of the realness of life. ([Watch the short video clip here](=).) I hope it gives you a glimpse into my heart behind my new book, [The Time-Saving Mom](. I didn’t write [The Time-Saving Mom]( to teach you how to have a fantastically organized home and life — though I hope the systems and strategies I share will bring more peace, calm, and clarity to your days.I also didn’t write it to help you become a productivity queen who hustles and squeezes every possible ounce of multi-tasking out of every minute. I’ve tried that route and it’s exhausting! Rather, my hope and heart behind [The Time-Saving Mom]( was to encourage you to better embrace and love and fully live the life in front of you. To give you tools to function with less stress and more joy. To share my rhythms and systems for simplifying and streamlining. And to ultimately detail what it looks like to lean on Jesus and find your hope and strength in Him when you are juggling a lot and life feels overwhelming. It’s not your typical time management book, though I do talk about calendars, to do lists, routines, and habits. But it’s more about the foundational principles and transformational mindset that allow me to live my life more present, more people-focused, pursuing my passions from a place of peace. Have you gotten your copy yet? If not, [it's just $16.09 for the hardcover right here]( or you can [buy it from Amazon]( or wherever you like to purchase books! The photo above is from [Getting My Act Together.]( Read her [honest review here.]( [image](=) Have you ever wondered how to talk to your kids about disabilities? Do you want your kids to not feel awkward around those who have special needs or disabilities, but you aren’t sure how to interact or what to say and don’t want to say or do the wrong thing? In this week’s episode of [The Crystal Paine Show](=), I have a really fantastic conversation about with Laura Wifler about this very topic. We not only share practical ideas of how we’ve appreciated others approaching and interacting with us and our children who have disabilities, but we talk about the gift that our children have been to our homes and families and how it has deeply changed and impacted us — in spite of the really hard parts. Laura Wifler is the author of the new children’s book titled [Like Me: A Story About Disability and Discovering God’s Image in Every Person]( and is also the Executive Director of [Risen Motherhood](=), a nonprofit organization that helps mothers connect their faith to their motherhood. Laura shares ideas of how to respond when your kids are curious about children with disabilities, giving great pointers about how to behave and what to say when your child asks questions about children they perceive as different. She also opens up and powerfully proclaims God’s truths when it comes to processing through the struggles and hard things that come along with having a child who has disabilities. We also talk about how culture often defines success in one way, but how our children have given us such different perspective. Whether you have a child with disabilities or whether you know someone who does or whether you just want to know how to better understand and walk with someone who has a child with disabilities, this is a really important conversation to listen to and I think you’ll come away from it deeply moved and encouraged.
