“I’m so worried I’m going to mess up my kids!” [image]( Hi, Friends! “I’m so worried I’m going to mess up my kids!” She looked me in the eye with stress written all over her face and said these words. I get it, mama. I really do. And I love your heart to do right by your kids. But lean in close and I want to whisper these words: “That’s why there’s Jesus. ”Mamas, you will make mistakes. You will have days when you don’t respond in the right way. You will not be able to do this mothering thing well in your own strength. That’s why Jesus left heaven and came to earth to die on your behalf... because you aren’t enough on your own. But you don’t have to, because you have Jesus! Lean into Him when you are exhausted from being up most of the night with a fussy, teething baby. Lean into Him when your toddler won’t nap and you’ve tried everything and it’s not working. Lean into Him when your preschooler keeps whining and you feel like you’re going to lose your cool. Lean into Him when your first grader is struggling to learn how to read and you feel like you are failing as a mom. Lean into Him when your middle schooler is crushed because their friend is moving to a different state. Lean into Him when your teenager makes a choice that breaks your heart and you feel devastate and unsure how to respond. Mamas, look to Jesus. Rely upon Him. Whether you are tired, overwhelmed, frustrated, weary, heavy-hearted, discouraged, ready to throw in the towel, lonely, or whatever your heart is feeling today, Jesus is Enough. Stop stressing over whether you are going to mess up your kids and start looking to the One Who loves them (and YOU!) more than you can even imagine! He is faithful. He is good. And when you aren’t enough, He is Enough!
