+ a few announcements [image] Hi, Friend! Baby D (the sweet little 8-month-old boy we are fostering who has a lot of medical complexities) had his first cleft repair surgery on Monday. He was supposed to only stay at the hospital for 24 hours, but he ended up having some complications and [we didn't get to go home until Wednesday night.]( [image] [I wrote this post on Instagram]( while at the hospital: Baby D’s surgery went so well (thank you for praying!), but recovery has been tougher than they’d hoped for. Instead of going home today as planned, we spent the day having tests run, waiting for results, and talking to doctors/nurses. Until he stabilizes more, we can’t be released. That could be in the next day or two. It could be days from now. We really don’t know. I felt discouragement creep in multiple times today — especially as my mind would travel to the upcoming days and all the unknowns and potential what if’s. could sit here and worry about Baby D’s future and how all this will play out for him. Is he going to be okay? Is there something more serious going on? I also can quickly go to thinking about our four other kids and whether me being MIA at home now (and for upcoming surgeries and hospitalizations) is going to have a negative impact on the rest of the family. I had to keep reminding myself of the truth: God has called our family to this and He will equip us for exactly what we need when we need it. That doesn’t mean it will be easy, but it does mean God will be faithful and He is *with* us — no matter what the future holds. I don’t know what you’re going through today or what giants you might be facing, but I do know this: our God is greater than any giant, stronger than any Goliath, and He is able to deliver and help you. Let’s believe that God is bigger and mightier. Let’s take God at His Word. He will never, ever, ever leave or forsake us. He is FOR us. And He is still in the miracle-working business. Let’s talk faith, not fear. -Crystal A few announcements: 1. The long-awaited [audiobook for Love-Centered Parenting]( is coming out April 27! You can [pre-order it here.]( 2.
