Hi, {NAME}! Tuesday morning I had an anxiety attack… my first one in a long time. It crept up on me from seemingly nowhere and I felt like I was suffocating. Jesse was gone at Discipleship Group and I needed to get all the kids out the door and to their three different schools. I felt like I was drowning. I wanted to scream. I was scared I was going to fly off the handle at my kids. And I honestly didn’t know if I could manage to get them to their schools. I cried out to Jesus to please help me and I just focused on the next tiny thing I needed to do — breathe, drive, don’t scream at anyone. As soon as I managed to get all the kids dropped off, I pulled into a Walgreens parking lot and desperately called Jesse. When I finally got ahold of him, I just said, “I’m a mess. I’m having an anxiety attack.” He calmed me down, spoke words of life to me, and reminded me of the truth. He kept speaking these words to me while he left in the middle of Discipleship Group to meet me in that Walgreens parking lot and hold me. And he helped me process what I was feeling, he let me vent my emotions, and he helped me to feel heard. He didn’t shame me or shut me down or tell me I was crazy. He just came to be WITH me and to tangibly remind me of his love and to speak words of truth over me. I am so grateful for this man. Our marriage is far from perfect (in fact, Monday night, he had gotten really upset at me and had later come back to apologize and ask forgiveness), but true love isn’t perfect because it’s between two people who are human and imperfect. But true love says, “I’m here for you. Even on your worst days, even when you’re acting crazy, even when you don’t deserve it… I still love you.” (If you’ve never suffered from anxiety or panic attacks, I know that this all sounds crazy and I debated whether to share because of that. But for those of you who have experienced anxiety or panic attacks, I hope this encourages you to know you’re not alone!) ********** [image] $70 Grocery Budget Challenge In other news, I’m having so much fun challenging myself to stick with a [$70 grocery budget](! [image] What I Read Recently I slowly savored [this book]( last week. It was really thought-provoking and I didn’t want it to end! This book delves into racism and brings up a lot of the current issues that, sadly, are so rampant in our day and age. I think it’s a worthwhile read and will really make you think. Have a great weekend! -Crystal P.S. We’re fulfilling our longtime dream of getting floor to ceiling bookshelves installed in our house — complete with a ladder!
