Joy doesn't spread when you hold it inside—it spreads when you share it ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ It's difficult to think in terms of abundance when times are tough; when you miss a mortgage payment because it's either pay it or feed your children. Unfortunately, there are way too many of our friends and neighbors who are hiding behind a false facade of prosperity when inside they are filled with fear about how they are going to dig themselves out of the financial hole they have tumbled into. It's easy for us to say "Just live with an abundance mindset," because there is no limit to the blessings we can receive when our hearts and minds are open. Yet when we are faced with overwhelming fear, doubt, and worry, these wishy-washy philosophical concepts don't pay the bills. The reason that people usually get self-absorbed in their lives is that they're so absorbed in feelings of scarcity that they can't think outside of themselves. They can't see past the fear, doubt, and worry to reach for the faith that is trying to tell them abundance is still all around us waiting to be embraced. When we ARE blessed with success, it's equally important to remain mindful of abundance rather than slip back into the scarcity mindset telling us we need to hoard our resources. No matter if our bank account is filled to the brim or if times are a little tough, it's how we approach the pool of abundance that ultimately allows our stewardship to ripple throughout the universe. I know, I know—too much wishy-washy philosophy again, right? But think about it this way: You are out to dinner with some friends who you know are going through a rough time. When the bill comes they take it, and you say, "No, no, we can take care of it for you." To which they say, "Don't steal our blessing. It fills us with joy to do this." That's what it means to live with abundance even when times are tough. Because joy doesn't spread when you hold it inside—it spreads when you share it. What are some small ways you have seen abundance being shared around you? Hit reply and share the joy.
