Banker's math is the social media filter of the financial world. You never know what kind of troll is lurking under that pretty exterior ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ A wise man once said “A guy puts a guarantee on the box 'cause he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside…but how do you know the Guarantee Fairy isn't a crazy glue sniffer?” One of our members was told by his financial advisor that his strategy could get him over 10,000 percent return! An insurance friend of mine called him on it because his numbers didn’t add up. Do you know what this agent told him? “But this is banker’s math. It works differently than normal math.” Math is math. Banker's math is the social media filter of the financial world. You never know what kind of troll is lurking under that pretty exterior. The thing is these insurance agents don’t have confidence in their own policies. They have to use banker’s math in order to make it sound better than it is. It’s the “this is good for you, but I’d never use it” mentality. We are already freaked out about money and all the emotional baggage we have around it so we just want someone to tell us “don’t worry about it, I’ll take care of this for you.” But insurance agents are taught something that’s pretty scary. They tell them people aren’t going to understand this. Your job is to get them to trust you and take your word for it. That’s why your agents shows you complicated mathematical formulas and inundates you with banker’s math until your eyes glaze over and you say, “You know best, so let’s do it.” That’s dangerous. Stay away from those crazy glue sniffers! Do you want to know the sad thing? Even with banker’s math those kinds of agents will make you less money and have higher fees than our policies do. Have you ever felt like your agents was bombarding you with so much math that you just gave in and thought “He knows what he’s doing, I’ll just trust him”? We all have. So I get how frustrating it can be. And I get how good it feels when you let someone else take care of everything. Everything will be okay because they have my best interest at heart. Unless they don’t. Just something to think about. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
