Take Responsibility!

With that said, with the presidential election on the horizon and the conventions and debates in full swing, I do have one opinion I can't keep to myself—and people on both sides are very guilty of this and you're not going to want to hear it. Many Americans tend to blame who is elected for WHY they are in the financial position they are in. Newsflash, it is very unlikely that this outside factor is holding you back from financial success. It is just an excuse you keep telling yourself. And this goes for politics, your inherited circumstances, your time commitments that keep you "too busy", and anything else you are using as an excuse. Now, as you and I know, not everyone starts at the same point because some of us have built more savings, have less bad debit, or already have been dabbling with investments. And that's OK! You can start at step 1 and get to financial independence quicker than others in a "more ahead" spot because you took action TODAY! It's time to take responsibility for your own financial independence. Stop waiting for the "right" conditions and start creating them.
