U.S. stocks continued to fluctuate ahead of crucial meetings between U.S. President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy as they (try to) iron out a deal to prevent the debt ceiling from being hit. While the debt ceiling debate is front and center in the news, two Fed speakers brought up the fact that there could be up to two more rate hikes this year. More than that, they indicated a pause might not signal that tightening is over. Despite this hawkish tone, tech continues to break out of its 52 week highs with big tech continuing to propel the market upward. Overall markets ended the day flat. China said products sold by Micron Technology Inc. (MU) failed a cybersecurity reviews and banned its sale into key infrastructure and Pfizer Inc.
