Ignore the debt ceiling at your own peril

Because while the market continues as though there’s nothing looming that could potentially threaten things, that very thing only becomes more and more threatening. I’m talking about the debt ceiling – you know, that thing President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy are continuing to negotiate. So, while we’ve heard repeated statements from those on the inside and outside of negotiations about how there’s no waywe won’t come to a solution, well, it’s starting to feel like less and less of a sure thing. And just this weekend, the two parties acknowledged they were further from a deal than anticipated.
