(OKE) announced it will buy Magellan Midstream Partners LP (MMP) to create a $60 billion pipeline juggernaut. Last week, Callon Petroleum Co. (CPE) scooped up hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Permian Basin assets. The Permian basin is the most profitable oil patch in the U.S. right now, and this M&A boom is just getting started. We will see deals inked left and right over the coming weeks and months, an investor payday more than a decade in the making. I'm not alone in being this bullish, either.
