? The only way to end your day ? 📉📈 Markets close lower but pare early losses Majo

The only way to end your day   📉📈 Markets close lower but pare early losses Major averages closed lower Tuesday, however, steep early losses were pared by a low grind higher intraday. The small cap focused Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) led the way to the downside, falling 2%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq-100 ETF (QQQ) shed 0.87% and the S&P 500 ETF (SPY) dropped 1.12%. A myriad of factors could be attributed to Tuesday’s market action, but they can all be boiled down to one word - uncertainty. And the market sure hates uncertainty. Fresh numbers from the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey for March came in lower than expected - signs of a hot labor market potentially slowing down. Employment openings hit their lowest levels since April 2021. Regional banks again were in focus, a day after First Republic (FRC) was taken over by JPMorgan (JPM). PacWest (PACW) and Western Alliance (WAL) were each halted after dropping more than 20%. The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) concludes its two-day meeting on Wednesday, and investors eagerly anticipate the latest rate hike decision from the central bank. Currently, traders are pricing in a 87% chance of a 0.25% interest rate increase. The focus then shifts for the post-meeting statement, where investors will try to see whether the Fed expects to continue or pause its rate hike cycle at the next FOMC meeting. FOMC announcements tend to bring added volatility to the markets - thankfully Chief Economist Garrett {NAME} and “The Warlock” Kenny Glick will guide traders through the post-Fed meeting market - and the fallout that ensues.
