Futures are little changed as we begin a hectic week, with investors shifting their attention to the Federal Reserve's upcoming FOMC policy meeting. The market has already factored in an 86% probability of a 25 basis point increase. However, the US banking crisis remains a problem and will likely be a large part of this week's discussion. This morning, regulators took control of First Republic Bank (FRC), with JPMorgan Chase stepping in as the buyer for the troubled institution. As a result, FRC's stock has plummeted over 40% today, while JPMorgan Chase (JPM) has risen by 3%. Last week's modest rally, spurred by Microsoft's (MSFT) and Alphabet's (GOOGL) earnings, may provide a foundation for the market. Still, the re-emergence of the banking crisis, the Fed's Wednesday meeting, and Apple's (AAPL) earnings report on Thursday all signal a potentially turbulent week ahead. Amid this uncertainty, WTI crude oil prices have retreated to $75, proving once again that when [Goldman Sachs predicts oil will hit $100, it's wiser to bet against it](. The decrease in energy prices should stimulate the [wave of mergers and acquisitions in the Permian region]( allowing us to secure even better deals on some of our preferred targets, such as Occidental Petroleum (OXY) and Permian Resources (PR).
