Tom Gentile Has a Plan to Deliver 10X More With Microcurrencies Instead! Holding stock into an earnings report is the dumbest thing you can do Tuesday, April 25, 2023 Youâve probably heard it by now that a recession is looming on the horizon. At least thatâs what the financial media and pundits are hollering about. Itâs got long-term investors shaking in their boots because the last time we had a recession in 2008, the value of index funds like QQQ lost more than half of their value. If a bear market is on its way, people get scared because they have stocks on the line. Theyâre holders. And they watch as the value of their account vanishes into thin air. Holding is dangerous any way you swing it because you have no idea what the next day will bring. One day, a beloved stock is riding high with nothing to stop it⦠And then the next day they announce they missed revenue estimates on an earnings report, and the stock tanks. Just look at what happened yesterday evening when First Republic Bank (FRC) announced earnings⦠The bank revealed that deposits had dropped by 41%, and the stock crashed from over $16.00 to $12.50 in under an hour. If you had bought shares of FRC thinking that it would go up and that the predictions were overblown, you would have lost 20% of your investment in a flash. And crashes like these arenât uncommon. Right now weâre in earnings season, and any earnings report has the chance to make a stock skyrocket or tumble downward. Itâs completely unpredictable which way a stock will move after earnings are announced. And sometimes you donât even need to wait for earnings for a stock to take a tumble⦠Remember Credo Technology (CRDO)? It was a random Tuesday in February when CRDOâs stock lost half of its value overnight â all on news that it had lost its main investor. The worst case of investors losing their money overnight though came with Silicon Valley Bank (SIVB) recently. The bank made a poor unhedged bet hoping interest rates would stay low. And because the bet went against them, it left the bank almost nearly entirely insolvent. The stock was promptly delisted, and all the investors and holders of SIVB stock lost their investments. Holding any stock overnight is a risk. And holding positions into an earnings report is one of the riskiest things you can do in the market. If you buy a position you can blow up your account. And if you short a position, you have infinite risk that a stock will shoot up in your face. Your best strategy instead of holding is to react to what the market gives us. If the market is telling us to short a stock, we short it. If itâs telling us to buy a stock, we buy it. And we can profit in either situation. We put our positions on after the company reports, so we arenât surprised by anything. Letâs take Delta Airlines' (DAL) report for example. It announced earnings, and the stock gapped up on good news. But then after it gapped up, traders and investors wanted to take profits on their held positions. DAL broke VWAP to the downside, making it a fantastic short opportunity, and sold off into the next session as you can see in the chart below⦠Shorting at the VWAP break of $34.50 got you all the way down to $32.50. 100 shares of that is a quick $200 in your pocket all before noon. You can do this with any stock that has news or earnings. All we need is volume to be able to make good trades. Between now and tomorrow morning weâll have plenty of earnings reports to trade including Microsoft (MSFT), Alphabet (GOOGL), Boeing (BA), and more! I donât care what the markets do because we have the chance to make huge money-making windfalls every day. I call my strategy the Private Bull Market, and others who have followed me have made money hand over fist. Itâs taken me 30 years to perfect my strategy of how to trade names like these. And I donât want you to be left in the dust as others are making money out there. So Iâm inviting you to join me this Thursday at 4:30 pm ET for my presentation on my Private Bull Market. Iâll be sitting down with Garrett {NAME} to discuss my strategy, and how itâs made money for thousands of people.
