  The only way to end your day   📉Stocks Fall As Earnings Continue Major averages fell on Tuesday as investors brace for the first mega cap tech earnings after the closing bell. The Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) led the way to the downside, falling 2.46%. The S&P 500 Index ETF (SPY) shed 1.57%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq-100 ETF (QQQ) lost 1.89%. Google (GOOGL) and Microsoft (MSFT), which each report earnings after the closing bell, fell % and % respectively. 🏦First Republic earnings reignite fears Shares of beleaguered regional bank First Republic (FRC) cratered more than 40% after reporting its latest quarterly results, saying late Monday that deposits dropped 40% in the first quarter. The bank has shed more than 90% in value so far this year. 🛢️ Oil, nat gas drop West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil contracts fell 2%, while natural gas dropped 2.8%. ⛏️ Alternative investments mixed Gold futures added 0.46%, while Bitcoin added 0.4% and Ethereum (ETH) dropped 0.2%. 🏠New home sales rise New home sales, a leading indicator of economic health, came in 50K higher than expected. However, Consumer Confidence numbers can in below forecasts, indicating consumer spending may be slowing down. Manufacturing activity slowed according to the Richmond Manufacturing Index, which measures the rate of relative business conditions. ☀️Earnings season continues While MSFT and GOOGL report quarterly results Tuesday after the closing bell, 210 total companies will announce numbers on Wednesday. Highlights include Meta (META), Boeing (BA), and Thermo Fisher (TMO). Traders and investors get a relative reprieve from economic data, with Durable Goods Orders on the docket for tomorrow morning.
