On Tuesday, after the market closes, we’ll get earnings from Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) and Alphabet Inc. (GOOG), there’s Meta Platforms Inc (META) on Wednesday, and on Thursday, Amazon.com Inc (AMZN). But Friday we also have some huge energy names in Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) and Chevron Corp. (CVX) And don’t forget about the smaller banks that have still yet to report! It’s going to be a busy week, as these names are just the tip of the iceberg – there are 650 companies set to report this week. Both figures have implications for Federal Reserve interest-rate policy, which is the most important factor in the market, as we have learned the past few months. Will next week’s FOMC meeting shake us out of the sideways trading? If the Fed pivots – as the market appears to be pricing in after this next 25-basis-point hike – where can we position ourselves NOW to take advantage?
