Another day, another rally that defies logic. We're now most likely range bound, as the market moves beyond the concept of a healthy economy and focuses almost entirely on the Fed's efforts to stabilize the financial sector. This morning, futures are on the rise following a buyout agreement for the deposits and loans of the troubled Silicon Valley Bank, calming concerns over the banking sector's stress levels. First Citizens BancShares is stepping up to the plate, announcing its intention to acquire select parts of Silicon Valley Bank for $500m. Believe it or not, the entire system is based on Fed alchemy and numbers on a screen - it's entirely feasible that they just manipulate this thing, create flat growth, and then pat themselves on the back, while writing autobiographies congratulating themselves on wrecking the U.S. economy for the fifth time in two decades. A soft landing seems highly unlikely given the current state of the economy. There are growing concerns about the need for the Fed to take further measures to stabilize the banking system and bolster deposits. According to the St. Louis Fed, there is a significant increase in financial stress levels throughout the country. We are currently experiencing levels that haven't been seen since the Dot Com crisis, Great Financial Crisis, and COVID correction. But remember, this market can - and will - [rally on the back of direct action]( - more stimulus, more capital, more fuel to the fire. It's a reminder that the economy is not the market, and the market is not the economy. The only thing left for us to do is follow momentum and trade with white knuckles.
