Tuesday, March 21, 2023 [Twitter]( [YouTube]( Good afternoon, Reader, Silicon Valley has been hit much harder with layoffs than the wider economy where, for the moment, the labor market is still hot. Honestly, we shouldn't expect anything else from a sector built on debt - debt that's growing more expensive by the month. Even Amazon.com (AMZN), the world's second trillion-dollar corporation, hasn't been immune. In fact, back in November, it became the first company to shed $1 trillion in market value. So yesterday, we got word from CEO Andy Jassy that Amazon will cut another 9,000 workers across several divisions, including Twitch and Amazon Web Services. This comes on the heels of 18,000 job cuts back in November. Investors usually respond to word of layoffs with bullish enthusiasm - they read it as "the company is cutting costs, which is a good thing, which is a reason to buy." [AMZN is a very tradeable stock, so my colleague Mark Sebastian is going to look at what we should do about it - watch his recommendation right here.]( Garrett {NAME} Executive Producer, Money Morning LIVE   New to Trading? Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
