Don’t let J-Pow leg-sweep your portfolio on Wednesday ? Sunday, March 19, 2023 Hey Reader, Th

Don’t let J-Pow leg-sweep your portfolio on Wednesday   Sunday, March 19, 2023 [Twitter]( [YouTube]( Hey Reader, This Wednesday, March 22, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) will emerge from its underground burrow at approximately 2:00 PM Eastern to let us know whether or not we can expect six more weeks of fiscal nuclear winter. Just kidding, kind of. Expectations for this next Fed meeting have shifted dramatically over the past week in response to the bank crisis. Take a look at this data from the CME FedWatch Tool - which tells us not what the talking heads are popping off about on TV, but what traders are actually betting on via fed funds futures. In just a week’s time, expectations for a 50 basis point rate hike have dropped from over 40%... to zero. And expectations for the Fed to completely pause its rate hike campaign and stand pat on rates have spiked to over 35%, compared to zero a week ago. Of course, in the meantime, [the Fed has reopened the fire hose on quantitative easing]( to the tune of about $300 billion by way of its discount window, and bank insiders are buying their own stock in droves. Will we be talking about what this all means in the context of the Fed’s next “official” policy move on [Midday Momentum]( starting on Monday this week? Oh, yes. I think we might. Also coming up on the live streaming show this week: - The return of regional bank expert (and babysitter extraordinaire) Tim Melvin - Why Jamie Dimon is the real winner of the crisis - Gold market insights from Brien Lundin - Earnings reactions from Nike, KB Home, Chewy, and more - …and Trade the Fed LIVE at 1:45 PM on Wednesday PLUS Shah’s latest iconic fashion statement - but you have to join us in the live streaming room to see it.
