And now here we are again. After a white-hot rally started the 2023 trading environment, Dimon is back as his megabank reported earnings this morning. Even though JPMorgan Chase (JPM) topped earnings and revenue expectations easily, shares pulled back more than 2.4% in the early hours. What went wrong? Exactly what I warned about yesterday. The company posted a $2.3 billion loan loss provision for credit losses during the quarter. That was WELL higher than expectations. Wall Street had expected just $1.96 billion in provisions - or money set aside for defaults. What does this mean?
