Dear Reader, There was a lot of activity this week that added chop to the market. And, if you weren’t able to make it to my [live show]( let me start by saying my focus earlier this week had nothing to do with things that were causing volatility in the market – mid-term elections, diesel shortages or corporate layoffs. Instead, I shared a strategy that works for both short-term and long-term trading. I shared a strategy that has a 90%-win rate this year, and last year, and the year before. I’m talking about a rules-based approach to trading options – the same strategy to hedge portfolios and generate income – Selling put options, which is a great way to start trading options if you’re new to them by the way. The market couldn’t decide its direction after the elections this month. With tight races this year, it looks like the mid-term elections were leaning toward political grid lock, but that can be good for the market. This lent to extra volatility in the market this week, and then the failure of FTX gave the market an even greater shot of volatility. FTX was an overleveraged crypto exchange and has filed for bankruptcy. This extra volatility has created hedging opportunities for our long-term crypto investments. So, what I like to do is find equity stocks that have high correlation to large crypto coins like Bitcoin and hedge against downturns. The strategy is officially called a butterfly option trade, but I’ve made some alterations to it, creating an “unbalanced butterfly.” It’s a great no-cost or low-cost insurance policy that profits as crypto investments lose ground. Finally, this week Joe and I reviewed the tremendous success we’re having with my Quantum Data Scripts – the software I launched in April. Our first trade alert went out on April 25, and as of November 8, our profits were $19,979 on an account budget of $1,000 per trade with a five-trade maximum ($5,000) at any given time. Our win/loss ratio for our higher probability Quantum Data trades sits at 3.2 to 1 as well. The strategy is about trend-trading, but it has worked exceptionally well under the current choppy market conditions.
