Monday, Nov. 7, 2022 Top stock moves and trading Cathie Wood Hey traders, it's Garrett We just wrapped up another day of live trading here, with the major stock indexes pushing sharply higher ahead of Tuesday's midterm elections. Among individual stocks, Digital World Acquisition (DWAC) made one of the most notable moves, surging more than 50%. Veru (VERU) was another huge mover today, jumping more than 35% on news that an FDA committee said the company's COVID-19 drug showed benefits. As many of you likely know, VERU has repeatedly been a day trade target for Kenny Glick, but it wasn't the stock's big move that had Kenny smiling today. No, that was due to the Jets' big win over the Bills on Sunday. The Jets covered the spread and then some But as for other stock moves, Kenny had our viewers watching the charts for Funko (FNKO) and Carvana (CVNA), as both of these garbage stocks were again making big moves around their Volume-Weighted Average Price (VWAP). In the energy sector, both Shah Gilani and I agreed that while many stocks in this space look overbought, they could still get a bump if Republicans have success in the midterm elections. In fact, Shah believes the entire market could get a lift if the GOP takes back control of Congress... though I do think we're already seeing some of that getting priced in with today's move. For instance, large-cap energy companies like Exxon Mobil (XOM) are gaining, while electric vehicle and solar stocks -- groups that would theoretically benefit from Democrat wins -- pull back some. Trading Cathie Wood During my Midday Momentum session today I did a deep dive into the stocks that Cathie Wood owns in her flagship Ark Invest fund.
