What everyone needs to understand is that trading options can be a great way to quickly grow a small account, thank to the leverage they provide. That's why it can be somewhat frustrating when the conversation around options always seem to start with how "complicated" they are or how "dangerous." Options are just another trading tool, and they're no more or less dangerous than trading certain stocks. In fact, in some ways they're safer. Obviously, you need to learn the basics before you get started, but my main message to you is that you shouldn't be scared to use options. In fact, I would encourage you to start not only learning about options 101 immediately, but even more "advanced" options strategies. Because the truth is, once you start learning how options work, you'll realize some of these strategies aren't that complicated at all... and in fact, they can make your trading life a whole lot easier. The strategy that comes to mind is a butterfly spread. If I told you that a butterfly spread is a strategy that involves both a bull and bear spread, that may sound scary. But if I pointed out that butterfly spreads give you a fixed risk/reward before your trade, that could help you start to understand the ways this strategy could be used.
