He pointed out that AT&T's (T) earnings release mentioned that it's seeing an increase in customers not paying their bills on time. This to me is a sign that we're in a recession-like period, no matter how the White House defines recession. Clearly, data like this shows that consumers are struggling. And no, Blanche, you're not a sucker. Please keeping paying your bills on time. For everyone else, it's also a good idea to keep actually looking at your credit card statements, even as interest rates rise. IGNORANCE IS BLISS, HUH But as for AT&T (T) stock, CJ suggested that it could be a good dividend play if it moves down to the $17 area. After last week's pullback, it's now sporting a 6% dividend yield. Speaking of dividends, we were also looking at Occidental Petroleum (OXY). If it gets out of junk bond status, we could see Warren Buffett buy the entire company.
