Republicans are cowards

Hi {NAME} – My name is David Hogg, and I’m a survivor of the 2018 shooting in Parkland, Florida. Our kids, our planet, our freedoms, our democracy — are all under attack by far-right extremists, from the State House to the U.S. Senate, [who are willing to let children be slaughtered at school and watch our planet burn for their own personal gain.]( [We refuse to back down.]( There were many who said after Parkland that we couldn’t change anything because we were just a “bunch of kids.” But we proved them wrong — we passed gun laws in a state "owned" by the NRA. There were many who said young people would never vote. But we proved them wrong in 2018 — defeating more NRA backed politicians than ever before in U.S. history. Then, in 2020, we defeated NRA puppet Donald Trump. Then in 2022 many said 25 year old March For Our Lives organizer, Maxwell Frost would never be elected to congress and we proved them wrong. [But we can’t get complacent now {NAME}. Republicans have been quietly working up and down the ballot – from abortion bans to taking away LGBTQ+ rights to working to repeal life-saving common sense gun laws put into place after the Parkland shooting.]( We can’t fight back against these attacks unless we have the resources we need to elect candidates, work with campaigns, and make our country safer. I created Leaders We Deserve to do just that- to fight back against the far right by bringing the most powerful, young movement leaders of the past decade into office. When we started after Parkland many in the movement weren’t even old enough to vote- but now not only can we vote, many of us can run and we have to because with school shootings, a backsliding democracy and climate change we don’t have the luxury of waiting. We are here to bring those movement leaders, those leaders we deserve like Maxwell Frost from March For Our Lives, into politics.
