I'll admit I'd never actually given much thought to this cover art, so learning about this bookish history was a treat. 3. You all know I love a good story set in Appalachia (Shiner by Amy Jo Burns was [one of my top reads of 2020](), and a 2021 MMD Book Club Pick!) So, I'm excited to read from the [new Appalachian Futures series out of the University of Kentucky](), which aims to "give voice to Black, Native, Latinx, Asian, Queer, and other nonwhite or ignored identities within the Appalachian region."
