Welcome to , where we share short and sweet reviews of what we’ve been reading lately on the 15

Welcome to [Quick Lit](), where we share short and sweet reviews of what we’ve been reading lately on the 15th of the month. Since the 15th falls on a Tuesday this month, when we post our show notes for our Tuesday [What Should I Read Next episodes](, I’m posting this month’s edition a day early. I’ve read A LOT this month, much more than usual, and struggled to narrow down my monthly reading to any kind of manageable list. I typically share five or six titles. Today’s list has eight, because I wanted to share a representative sampling of what I’ve been reading, and couldn’t (or didn’t want to?) do it in less. [Click here for Quick Lit](=). I started this Quick Lit cycle by reading ALL THE ROMANCE NOVELS because I needed something hopeful, with happy endings. The one exception was audiobooks, where I continued to listen to a variety of genres. (And listen I did—I went through so many audiobooks this month!) In the past two weeks or so I've branched back out to a mix of books that more closely resembles my regular mix (if there is such a thing), so on today's list, in addition to a romance series opener, you'll see nonfiction, literary fiction, mystery, and thriller, with a mix of backlist and brand new. (In fact, two books on today's list come out tomorrow.) You know how we do it around here: today I share eight recent reads I enjoyed, and your fellow readers are about to PILE ON the book recommendations. We'd love to hear what you've been reading lately: check out the post on the blog, and then [tell us in comments](=) about your recent reads. Link up a blog post, an instagram post, or simply tell us what you've been reading there in the comments section. Happy reading, friends! Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
