$20 a day? $100 a day? Or $2,000 a day? Your comfort zone is a hurdle you must overcome to scale your business. [MOBE DAILY](41475b/ct0_0/1?sid=TV2%3AdeJ4SpImP) [] [START YOUR BUSINESS](41475b/ct1_0/1?sid=TV2%3AdeJ4SpImP) [] [SCALE YOUR BUSINESS](41475b/ct2_0/1?sid=TV2%3AdeJ4SpImP) [] [GROW YOUR WEALTH](41475b/ct3_0/1?sid=TV2%3AdeJ4SpImP) [] MOBE Daily #161 "Let's say you have $1,000,000 tied up in your little company and suddenly your advertising isn't working and sales are going down. And everything depends on it. Your future depends on it, your family's future depends on it, other people's families depend on it. Now, what do you want from me? Fine writing? Or do you want to see the goddamned sales curve stop moving down and start moving up?" ~ Rosser Reeves Hey, The first traffic method I ever learned was Google Adwords. Back in the day, long before Facebook PPC came along everyone was focused on getting their ads to show up for certain searched keywords on Google. And if you knew how to do it right, it was a literal goldmine. I came along at the tail end of when you could easily promote affiliate marketing training courses on Google. At first, I tried to figure out how to place the ads through trial and error. The first day I spent $50 (way outside of my comfort zone, but I was incredibly optimistic). I got literally just one lead. One lousy lead, for essentially 3 hours of hard manual labor cleaning up someone's backyard (that's how I looked at money back then - how many gardening hours was this costing me?). After a couple weeks of dismal results, I went and bought a book called Google AdWords for Dummies, by Howie Jacobson, and started following along with the training in the steps. At first I spent about $20 a day. Slowly I worked myself back up to closer to $50 a day. Every day, it was like another $50 banknote was disappearing into thin air. I'd get nothing in return (at least, nothing tangible) and there was no guarantee I'd ever see that money again. Maybe you can relate. Especially if you're new to entrepreneurship and you're used to getting paid a fixed amount for your time. When you work for one hour, you know exactly what it is you're getting back – whether it's $15 an hour or $100 an hour. Now, you're outlaying $20 a day or $50 a day on marketing and you're not getting a fixed return. There's no guarantee you'll ever see that money again. If this makes you uncomfortable, then that's a hurdle you need to get over. If you want a guaranteed return, you're not going to make it as an entrepreneur. As an entrepreneur, there's no such thing as a "sure thing." You need to become comfortable outlaying money and there being a very real possibility of losing that money some of the time. You'll place ads that don't work. You'll have to learn from those mistakes and adjust and fine-tune. But there's no avoiding those mistakes. The good news is, if you try enough of them you'll eventually find an ad that consistently brings you a positive return. And when you do, then it's time to scale up. When I started generating a few hundred dollars a day from my ad campaigns, I started scaling up my ad spend from $50 a day to $100 a day, and then to $200 a day, and then to $1,000 a day, and then to $2,000 a day. These days, we're spending many hundreds of thousands of dollars every month on our marketing campaigns. I'm comfortable with those kinds of numbers now, but it wasn't always that way. I worked my way up, and you've got to do the same. Start with $10 or $20 a day, whatever you're comfortable with, and work your way up. As you start making bigger numbers with more 0's attached, your comfort level for taking bigger calculated bets with your advertising also starts to go up. Just read all the books, consult all the mentors and attend all the events you can. Other people can teach you the marketing strategies. If you don't have the money, that's OK. Other people can teach you strategies to get finance for your business. If you're terrible at time management, other people can teach you that too. The one thing no one can teach you is passion. You have to provide that yourself. They will stay for an average of 6 minutes if there's a video, but only 4 minutes if there's only text. People will always read, and copy is still king. However, you will sell more through your websites if you use video. In [this video](41475b/ct6_1/1?sid=TV2%3AdeJ4SpImP), I share with you 4 different platforms that you can use to host the videos on your website. If your residual income exceeds your expenses, you'll be financially free and you'll never have to work again. You'll be able to wake up each day, all your bills are covered and you can spend the day however you like. In this video, filmed at the Platinum Mastermind in the Canary Islands, Roger Salam discusses the finer details of how to get your residual income exceeding your expenses. [] Talk soon!
